Can't Play Without Johnson

Without Joe Johnson the Hawks seem to be lost. The Sacramento Kings ended a 5 game losing streak on Sunday when they defeated the Hawks 117-92.

How in the world could the Hawks lose to a team that was on a 5 game losing streak? It wasn’t even like the Kings just squeaked by either, they won by 25 points! The Hawks need to learn how to play without Johnson. He’s not superhuman; when Johnson is sick or injured the Hawks need to know how to hold it together.

Tonight’s game is against the Denver Nuggets who are currently 11-7. We beat them last Wednesday; let’s see if the Hawks can do it again.

Winning by Free Throws

Wednesday night’s game had me on the edge of my seat until that ending buzzer rang. The game was won by Shelden Williams who scored the winning 2 free throws with 5.4 seconds left, as the Atlanta Hawks squeaked by the Denver Nuggets, 98-96.

Marcus Camby fouled Williams with 5.4 seconds on the clock, and he converted both shots for a two-point Atlanta lead with a final chance for Denver. Miller caught the inbound pass, drove across the lane, but missed a running layup to seal the win for Atlanta.
